Bebe Winans to Host “The Bebe Experience” on Sirius Radio

BeBe Winans is an American gospel and R&B singer. He is a well known member of the Winans family, he worked with PTL Club in North Carolina as a background vocalist for the show together with his sister CeCe Winans. In 1989, BeBe won His First Grammy for Best Soul Gospel Performance, Male for his contribution to “Abundant Life”, a track on his brother Ronald’s Family & Friends Choir.

Lately, he accepted Quincy Jones’ invitation to contribute to Q, considering that he had some hesitations about singing Everything Must Change, the Benard Ighner tune on 1974′s Body Heat soundtrack produced by Quincy Jones.

“I couldn’t stand the song, Winans says. I was almost angry. I went in kicking and screaming because Quincy was not movable. After I finished, I loved it. It was meant for me. I understood Quincy a little more because he heard past everything I didn’t want to hear. He knows these matches will work, and people who would never be in the playground together do so because he invites us.”

“He’s always been like a godfather to me,” he says. “He has an ease, a warmth that brings you in. But it goes deeper. It’s spiritual. He has a concern about people in general, and music has been a doorway connecting him to people all over the world. I see him more in China than I do in L.A.”

Winans hosts his own nationally syndicated radio program, The BeBe Winans Radio Show. BeBe Winans is currently the star of The Color Purple as Harpo in Broadway as of January 9, 2008. He is starring alongside Chaka Khan who is playing his wife, Sofia.

BeBe is one of the prominent judges for a Gospel music competition show titled “Sunday Best” along with gospel duo Mary Mary. He was recently invited to participate in the remake of We Are The World to benefit Haiti after the earthquake.

BeBe Winans is a Grammy Award winner, Dove Award winner, and Stellar Award winner, as well as a fully accomplished singer, writer, producer and songwriter. Part of the legendary Grammy winning brother and sister duo BeBe and CeCe Winans, BeBe is in the midst of ongoing promotion for the current chart topping CD, first album together in 15 years of the Winans siblings.

Bebe’s latest is the launch of his The Bebe Experience, is a weekly show aired on SIRIUS channel 68 and XM channel 33.
